June 20, 2010 Federal Radon Action Plan The EPA and various agencies today released the updated Federal Radon Action Plan at the Healthy Homes Conference in Denver, Colorado. Details of the plan can be found at http://www.epa.gov/radon/action_plan.html. Through the American Radon Policy Coalition, Allied Radon Services, Inc is participating with other non-government agencies in implementation of the plan.

November 15, 2009 SIL Radon Awareness Task Force, Inc Recognized SIL Radon Awareness Task Force, Inc. members David Parkhill, Gloria Linnertz, and Calvin Murphy were recognized by the Midwest Chapter AARST with a plaque presentation at the Chapter meeting November 13, 2009 at the Chateau in Bloomington, IL. November 15, 2009 Gloria Linnertz Story Gloria Linnertz of Waterloo, IL tells her story and reveals who she came to be a radon activist and consumer advocate. Southern Illinois Radon Awareness Initiative The free test kit portion of the Southern Illinois Radon Awareness Initiative ended at 4:30pm on June 30, 2009. I am pleased to announce that 998 of the 1,000 test kits that were available were given away. The next milestone in the initiative is July 14, 2009. In order to qualify for one of the 10 free radon mitigation systems, test kits received as part of the Initiative from American Lung Association of Illinois must be postmarked by this date.
January is National Radon Action Month. Winter is a good time to check the radon levels in your house. Please contact us if you need help locating a test kit. Representative Karen May has introduced HB4789 which will impact radon levels in new houses.
